After a very long, tiring and emotional week, I had the privilege of
helping to feed those less fortunate than most of us today. When most people think about being homeless
they immediately think of bums. That
couldn't be further from the truth in a lot of situations. People base their lack of knowledge strictly
on looks. Granted there are those who
may have dropped out of high school, those who may be mentally ill or even
those who may be addicted to illicit drugs that are homeless. But the truth of the matter is that being
homeless doesn't mean you have specific traits or attitudes. You could be sitting right next to someone at
work or school who is homeless and you wouldn't even know it. Most people in
this country take for granted the fact that they come home to a warm bed and
have plenty of food to eat. If it
weren't for the grace and mercy of God, it could be any one of us at any given
moment.
For me there is no greater feeling in the world than helping someone in
need. It's most certainly a
life changing experience. Here are a few pics from today.
